How does a subscription business model make money?
Asked 4 years ago
Hi, I am thinking of implementing a subscription model to my existing online store as a way for people to gain exclusive access to certain products, workshops, and events. However, I am unsure whether this would be profitable?

In a subscription business model, you earn recurring revenue as the customers are given access to a product or service in return for a specified fee. It's like an agreement with the clients that they receive benefits for a particular period and are given the choice of canceling the deal anytime. This model is becoming more popular because there is a shift in the mindset of people who want "access" over "ownership."

A subscription model makes money through recurring revenue. Here you offer valuable products, printables, workshops or services monthly/ quarterly. Declined transactions and failed renewals are some of the reasons subscription businesses are not profitable. Sending reminder emails to customers for renewal increase the customer success retention rate.
